Paragon ("we", "us", or "our") is committed to protecting your privacy. This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, and safeguard your information when you use our AI personal calendar assistant platform.
Information We Collect
- Account Information: When you sign up with Google OAuth, we collect your name, email address, and profile picture.
- Calendar Data: We do not store your Google Calendar data. Calendar information is accessed in real-time via the Google Calendar API as needed.
- Usage Data: We use PostHog and Vercel Analytics to collect usage data, including session replays and basic web analytics, to help us improve the product.
- Payment Data: All payments are processed through Stripe-hosted checkout pages. We do not store or process your payment card details.
- Chat Data: We store your chat transcripts with the AI assistant so you can review your previous conversations. These transcripts are end-to-end encrypted, meaning only you can access their contents. They are not used for training our AI models.
How We Use Your Information
We use your information exclusively to:
- Provide, operate, and improve Paragon’s features and services
- Ensure the security and integrity of our platform
- Analyze usage to enhance product performance and user experience
We do not use your information for marketing or personalization.
Third-Party Services
We use the following third-party services to operate Paragon:
- Google (OAuth authentication, Calendar API)
- PostHog (analytics, session replays)
- Vercel (hosting, web analytics)
- Stripe (payment processing)
These providers may access your information only as necessary to perform their functions. All data is processed within the United States.
Sharing and Disclosure
- No sale of data: We do not sell your personal information or Google user data.
- No unnecessary disclosure: We do not transfer or disclose your information to third parties for purposes other than providing and improving the services you request.
- Service providers (processors): We share information only with the service providers listed above so they can perform services on our behalf (e.g., hosting, authentication, analytics, and payments). They may access your information solely to perform their functions and are prohibited from using it for any other purpose.
- No advertising use: We do not share Google user data with advertising platforms or data brokers, and we do not use Google user data for advertisements or marketing.
- Legal compliance and safety: We may disclose information if required by law, to comply with legal processes, or to protect the rights, property, or safety of our users or the public.
Google User Data (OAuth and Calendar)
- Data we access: With your consent, we access your basic Google profile information (name, email, profile image) and Google Calendar data required to provide Paragon’s calendar features.
- How we use it: Google user data is used only to authenticate you and to perform actions you request, such as reading your calendar list and creating, updating, or deleting events.
- Storage: We do not store Google Calendar event content. We may securely store OAuth tokens (including refresh tokens) as needed to maintain your Google connection and provide the integration.
- Sharing/Disclosure: We do not transfer or disclose Google user data to third parties except to our service providers as necessary to operate the service (for example, database, hosting, or logging). We do not allow this data to be used for advertising, profiling, or data brokering. Human access to Google user data is not permitted except when required for security, abuse investigation, compliance, or where you provide explicit consent.
- Revocation: You can revoke Paragon’s access to your Google account at any time in your Google Account settings under Security → Third‑party access, or by visiting the Google Account permissions page.
Compliance with Google Policies
Paragon’s use of information received from Google APIs will adhere to the Google API Services User Data Policy, including the Limited Use requirements.
Data Retention
- Account Data: Retained until you request account deletion.
- Calendar Data: Not stored by Paragon.
- Chat Transcripts: Stored in encrypted form and retained indefinitely unless you request deletion.
- Analytics Data: Retained according to PostHog’s default settings.
Your Rights & Choices
- Account & Data Deletion: To delete your account or chat transcripts, please email support@paragon.zone.
- Future GDPR Support: While we currently serve U.S. users and do not support GDPR requests, we plan to offer these controls soon.
Security
We take the security of your data seriously. All chat transcripts are protected with end-to-end encryption, ensuring that only you can access the contents of your conversations. We do not have access to the decrypted contents of your chats. In addition, we rely on trusted third-party providers for authentication, hosting, and payments, and follow industry best practices to safeguard your information.
Children’s Privacy
Paragon can be used by children. We do not knowingly collect more information than necessary to provide our service.
Changes to This Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. If we make material changes, we will notify you via email.
